Objectives

Gangotri Seva Samiti actively works for environmental conservation and purification of the River Ganga through the following initiatives:

• Daily cleaning and washing of Ghats
• Cleaning of riverbed and Ghats after floods
• Removal of plastic waste, flowers, and pollutants from the river
• Installation of dustbins on Ghats
• Plantation drives to prevent air pollution
• Public awareness programs through human chains

Awareness campaigns via exhibitions, seminars, and conferences.

The Samiti is deeply committed to humanitarian service and social upliftment:

• Anna Kshetra – daily free food for pilgrims, the needy, and orphans
• Free medical aid and health camps
• Free education for underprivileged children
• Distribution of clothes and blankets to the needy
• Free drinking water for pilgrims and tourists
• Information centers during fairs and festivals
